In an ancient Greek text, the word “iasis” means healing. It is therefore the vision of Iasis Christ Fellowship to bring healing and transformation to the lives of people in Fort Collins and beyond. Read further to learn about how we are working toward that transformation.
At Iasis our motto is to be “streetwise,” which is an acronym for “spiritual transformation results in edification and equipping to witness in your social environment.” In other words, we want to take the Good News out into the streets of our neighborhoods, our town, and our world.
The first part of being streetwise is to be Spiritually Transformed. We love to see the changes in people’s lives as they first believe in Christ, and then grow into maturity in their faith through studying Scripture, worship, and fellowship. And we believe that as we are spiritually transformed, our city can be spiritually transformed through us as well.
The next part of streetwise is Edification and Equipping. To edify means to build up—whether it be building up each other in encouragement, or building up our community through service. We want to be trained to minister to others when they are in pain, to serve in our communities in practical ways, and to share the Gospel wherever we go. Our classes and services are designed to provide a time and place for this training, and we are always inviting members to join us.
The final piece of the streetwise motto is Witnessing in our Social Environment. By social environment, we mean the people and places we encounter in our daily lives—our families, our neighbors, and our co-workers. All believers have a sphere of influence that God has placed them in to do His work. At Iasis, we offer ministry opportunities to both share your faith to family and peers, and also to spread the Good News in your community through service and leadership.

Iasis treasures its location in Historic Old Town Fort Collins. We believe Old Town is special because it is the home of some many important pieces of our community, like our local government, businesses, theatre and the arts, CSU, charities, and more. We are excited to be right in the middle of this important neighborhood, and desire to partner with these groups to vitalize our community today and for the days to come. At Iasis, our goal is to increase our community-based ministries through these partnerships so that our members have a chance to bring their gifts and talents not only to the church, but to the city as well.
